Today was supposed to be a big day for former U.S. President Bill Clinton here in Hong Kong, as the first overseas meeting of his charity forum, the Clinton Global Initiative, got underway at the Grand Hyatt hotel. Heads of state and CEOs rubbed elbows and exchanged business cards over muffins, apples and environmentally friendly bottled water (made from condensed moisture in the air).
The New York-based CGI, as it’s known, raises funds for charitable causes and encourages corporate commitments to some of Clinton’s favorite causes, including education, poverty reduction and the environment.
